Angel Fire offers endless possibilities no matter what the season. Winter offers skiing, snowboarding, and all your winter activities within minutes from Vista De Valle. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall you can spend hours hiking the countless trails, mountain biking, mountain sledding, horseback riding, rafting the river, and much more.

HORSEBACK RIDING 

Whether you have no horseback riding or you are an experienced rider, Angel Fire is a great place for horseback riding. There are multiple companies with a multitude of options!

 

Nancy Burch’s RoadRunner Tours

  • Beginner-Advanced Lessons – Beginner Lesson: Get to know your horse and basic maneuvers. Advanced: Come to a greater understanding of riding and commands.

  • Newcomer Tours – A one hour ride near the barn, perfect for absolute beginners and families with small children.

  • Gold Panning Expedition – One of their most popular tours. Half-day or full-day horseback rides into the Carson National Forest.

  • Chuckwagon tours – A three hour tour through Carson National Forest, their chuckwagon tour also includes a rustic chuckwagon meal at the Roadrunner’s base camp!

 

Bobcat Pass Trail Rides

Bobcat Pass Trail Rides offers daily rides through the beautiful Carson National Forest and breathtaking Valle Vidal. Choose between 1 hour up to a full day of horseback riding. While you are looking at their website, take a look at their guided ATV tours, Cowboy Evenings, Snowmo Tours, and Guided Hunts.

ATV Rentals

If hiking and horseback riding are not your ideal way to explore the outdoors, try renting an ATV. You are bound to have a great time!

Red River Off Road is located in Red River, which isn't too far from Angel Fire. Make sure to check out their webiste for all of their other exciting activities. They also offer Snow Cat and Snowmobile tours in the winter!

Zip Lining

The Angel Fire Resort offers a Zipline Adventure tour featuring six ziplines offering stunning views of Moreno Valley. Tour are typically 2 to 3 hours.

Hiking

Hiking in Angel Fire is one of our favorite activities. There are countless trails to explore. Check out AllTrails.com or borrow one of our hiking books from the house.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Look no further than right around the corner of Vista De Valle at the Angel Fire Resort for mountain biking. Angel Fire Bike Park is the largest bike park in the Rocky Mountains and has been voted the Best in the Southwest by MTBparks.com 3 years in a row. Make sure to check the lift calendar online before heading that way!

RIVER RAFTING

Outside Taos, you will find multiple river rafting companies with options for a calm float or adrenaline rushing trip. The water is typically highest from March to June when the snow melts and flows into the river. Typically, companies offer rafting from March until November, depending on the season.

 

Los Rio River Runners offers rafting, kayaking, multi day trips, horseback riding and rafting trips, and more.

Far Flung Adventures offers various rafting trips including multi day trips.

Cottam's Rio Grande Rafting has more than just rafting. They also have combination trips such as mountain biking and rafting.

Big River Raft Trips is a full service outfitter that provides beautiful and exciting all day and half day white water river trips on the Rio Grande. Make sure to check out all of their great options.

Summer Mountain Tubing

Summer Mountain Tubing is loads of fun for the entire family. Red River Ski has lots of summer and winter activities. While you are there, spend some time exploring Red River.

Taos, New Mexico

Located in northern New Mexico's high desert, Taos is nestled at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, near the Rio Grande River and only 40 minutes from Angel Fire. It is known for its historic adobe builings and rich culture. Taos is a blend on Spanish, Native American, and Anglo cultures. Spend the day or just go for dinner, Taos offers plenty to do.

Taos Pueblo, an historic adobe community, is considered the oldest contiuously inhabited communities in the USA. This is a must see while in the area.
